The Merlin Four Button Wireless Car Visor Remote Control can be used with both Merlin Security+ and Security+ 2.0 codes (dual function). 4 buttons are available and any button can be programmed with either code.

Initially: Locate the LEARN button on your particular opener and identify the button on the remote you wish to use. Do not select a button already in use.
1. Install the Visor Clip

To ensure the visor clip is secured to the remote properly, push the clip into the slot until you hear an audible click.
2. Programming – Merlin Security+ 2.0 door opener systems

The remote is preset for use with Merlin Security+ 2.0 systems, so for EVO door opener models with this code, simply program in the usual manner. Refer to the WIRELESS PROGRAMMING section in your Opener Operating Manual.
NOTE: If you are unsure what code has been set previously, use the Security+ programming sequence on page 2.
- Press & hold the button on the remote you wish to use.
- Press & release the LEARN button on the opener.
- Release the remote button when the opener light flashes. The code has been learnt, and the next press of the remote button should activate the door.
3. Programming – Merlin Security+ door opener systems

To do this you will need to enter the unique REMOTE PROGRAMMING sequence:
1. Enter the programming MODE on the remote by pressing and holding the left and right buttons simultaneously for around 5 seconds (fig 1). Release when the remote LED stays ON continuously.
2. Press & release the LEARN button on your garage door opener briefly (fig 2). Within 30 seconds, the remote can now be programmed.
3. Select the button on the remote you wish to program and press twice (fig 3). If the opener light flashes, the code has been learnt and step 4 can be performed. If not, press the selected button again until the opener light flashes, indicating the code has been learnt. At this point, do not press this button any more.
4. Now press any one of the OTHER 3 buttons of the remote (fig 4). This LOCKS IN the code to the button selected in step 3 and the remote LED turns OFF.
5. The next press of the button should activate the door, if not repeat the process.
NOTE: In the event you need to return a button to Security+ 2.0 code, repeat the programming sequence outlined above.

Additional buttons on the remote can be programmed to operate up to 3 devices such as additional garage door openers, light controls, gate operators or access control systems.

WIRELESS KEYLESS ENTRY • MODEL E840M

For use with Security 2.0 Garage Door Openers. The garage door opener activates when the 4-digit Personal Identifiction Number (PIN) and ENTER button are pressed on the Keyless Entry. Install the battery and program the Keyless Entry prior to installation. Make sure the garage door opener has a working courtesy light because it is a programming indicator.
Warning
To prevent possible SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH from a moving gate or garage door: Install Keyless Entry Control within sight of the garage door,out of reach of children at a minimum height of 1.5m, and away from all moving parts of door. ALWAYS keep remote controls out of reach of children. NEVER permit children to operate, or play with remote controls. Activate gate or door ONLY when it can be seen clearly, is properly adjusted, and there are no obstructions to door travel. ALWAYS keep gate or garage door in sight until completey closed. NEVER permit anyone to cross path of moving gate or door
PROGRAM INITIAL PIN - using the Learn button

To test, press the PIN, then press the ENTER button. The garage door opener will activate. To program the Keyless Entry to more than one garage door opener, repeat the steps above using a new PIN for each
additional garage door opener.
CHANGE AN EXISTING PIN

PROGRAM A TEMPORARY PIN

A temporary 4-digit PIN can be programmed to allow access to visitors. Each programmed PIN can program one temporary PIN. The temporary PIN can be set for a number of hours or a number of door openings. The temporary PIN cannot be the same as any previously programmed PIN
CHANGE AN EXISTING PIN

To clear the temporary PIN, repeat steps 1-3 above, setting the number of hours or openings to 0 in step 3.
INSTALLATION
- Select a location to mount the Keyless Entry at a minimum height of 5 feet (1.5 m) out of the reach of children.
- Remove battery cover and battery.
- Mark the top mounting hole and drill 1/8 inch (3.2 mm) pilot hole.
- Install the top screw, allowing 1/8 inch (3.2mm) to protrude above the surface. Position the Keyless Entry over the top screw.
- Mark the bottom hole and drill 1/8 inch (3.2 mm) pilot hole. Install the bottom screw. Do not overtighten to avoid cracking the plastic housing.
- Reinstall battery and replace cover

INSTALLATION
The garage door opener activates when the PIN and ENTER button are pressed. The keypad will blink for 15 seconds, during that time the ENTER button can be used to stop, start or reverse the door. If the wrong number is accidentally pressed, press the correct PIN then the ENTER button. The Keyless Entry will transmit only the last four digits that were pressed before the ENTER button. ONE BUTTON CLOSE: The Keyless Entry has a feature that allows the door to be closed using the ENTER button instead of a PIN. NOTE: This feature is not available on external receivers.
- To deactivate the one button close feature:
- Press and hold the 1 and 9 buttons for 10 seconds.
- The keypad will blink four times when the one button close feature is deactivated.
- To activate the one button close feature:
- Press and hold the 1 and 9 buttons for 10 seconds.
- The keypad will blink twice when the one button close feature is activated.

- Attach to the wall using the two screws provided. If mounting to a plaster wall, wall plugs may be required.
- NOTE: Do not over tighten screws.
- Replace the front cover plate.

NOTE: The Remote Control supplied with your Remote LED Light is preprogrammed by the factory to the button shown in figure 1.

Installation

The myQ® Remote LED Light is designed to plug directly into a standard 240V outlet and not permanently wired. Consider installing close to an existing power
outlet. Nominal lumens is 1500, avoid directly looking at the lens when illuminated.
NOTE: If installing light on lasterboard and a ceiling joist cannot be located, use wall anchors provided. No pilot hole is required for wall anchors
- Drill pilot holes 6-1/8" (15.6 cm) apart if mounting to joist. OR Screw in wall anchors 6-1/8" (15.6 cm) apart if mounting to lasterboard.
- Determine the length of power cord needed to reach the nearest 240V outlet. Wind any excess cord around cord retainer on the top side of the light base. Route the cord through the channel so the light mounts flush.
- Open the light lens.
- Mount the light with the screws provided.
- Close the light lens.
- Plug in the light to the 240V outlet.
NOTE: The LED light is very bright and will blink while programming. DO NOT stare at the light while on a ladder.
Operation
Once the mains power is turned ON, the light can only be activated using Security+2.0 Remote Controls or the Merlin myQ® Internet app. A Security+ 2.0
Remote Control is supplied with this kit. If paired with a myQ® garage door opener the myQ® Remote LED Light can also automatically turn ON or OFF in simultaneously with the garage door opener’s internal light to boost the illumination of the garage

Programming

PROGRAM AN ADDITIONAL SECURITY+ 2.0® REMOTE CONTROL TO THE myQ® REMOTE LED LIGHT
- Press the LEARN button on the Remote LED Light until the green LED comes ON.
- Press the button on the remote control (figure 2) that you wish to operate the light.
- The code has been programmed when the Remote LED Light blinks once.
PROGRAM THE myQ® REMOTE LED LIGHT TO A myQ®


COMPATIBLE GARAGE DOOR OPENER
- Press the LEARN button on the Remote LED Light until the green LED
comes ON. - Press the “S” (figure 3 - Roller Door Garage Door Openers) or “Learn”
(figure 4 - Sectional Garage Door Openers) button on the myQ® garage door opener that you wish to operate the light. - The code has been programmed when the remote light blinks once.
ADD THE myQ® REMOTE LED LIGHT TO myQ® ACCOUNT
Up to 16 myQ® devices can be paired to the myQ® Gateway. These devices include any combination of myQ® garage door openers and myQ® Remote LED
Lights.
NOTE: An active myQ® account with a connected myQ® Gateway is required for activating the myQ® feature. A myQ® Gateway is not provided with this unit.
- Login to the myQ® app
- Press the menu icon (top left corner).
- Click on Device Management.
- Under “HUBS”, click on the name of your Gateway.
- Click “Add New”, select LED Remote Light and follow the steps.
- Press the LEARN button on the light until the green LED comes ON.
TO ERASE ALL PROGRAMMING FROM THE myQ® REMOTE LED LIGHT
1. Press and hold the LEARN button until the green LED turns off (6-10 seconds). All programming is now erased.
Maintenance
- Unplug the light before cleaning.
- Use a lightly dampened cloth for cleaning.
- DO NOT use liquid cleaners on the light lens

ATTACHING BATTERY BACKUP UNIT

Mounting the BBU to the wall or ceiling - Install the BBU after the motor unit has been installed.
- Disconnect mains power from the Motor unit.
- Remove the plastic cover from the BBU housing and expose the looped cable assembly.
- Remove the two plastic plugs from the mounting position on each side of the BBU. (ready to install the mounting screws provided)
- Mount the BBU to the wall or ceiling using the 2 screws provided on a support beam within cable distance. (around 80cm).
- Install the BBU securely onto the support beam and connect the cable to the motor unit.
- Replace the plastic BBU cover, ensure to cable is positioned in the cut-out provided.
- Plug the opener into AC power and turn the AC power on for the BBU to be activated.
- Check the BBU LEDs activate for 3 seconds, and then the green LED commences flashing, indicating the BBU is charging.
NOTE: The AC power needs to be turned on with the BBU connected for the
BBU to be activated.
ATTACHING THE BATTERY BACKUP

Mounting the BBU to the LR-Drive - Install the BBU after the motor unit has been installed.
Attach the BBU to the LR-Drive on the clips provided:
- Disconnect the mains power from the Motor unit. Remove the plastic cover from the BBU housing and expose the looped cable assembly.
- Install the BBU onto the rear cover of the Motor assembly, ensure you engage the plastic lugs on the lower half of the housing.
- Tighten the retaining screw provided into the centre housing to secure the BBU.
- Connect the BBU cable into the terminal assembly on the Motor.
- Replace the plastic BBU cover.
- Plug the LR-Drive into AC power and turn the AC power on for the BBU to be activated.
- Check the BBU LEDs activate for 3 seconds, and then the green LED commences flashing, indicating the BBU is charging.
BATTERY BACKUP (BBU) OPERATING INSTUCTIONS
1. Test the installed BBU with the motor unit.
To test the BBU, disconnect the motor unit power cord from the electrical outlet.
- A solid yellow LED indicates the BBU is operating on battery power.
- A flashing yellow LED with beep indicates the BBU is operating on battery power and that the battery charge is low.
- To test the BBU is functioning properly, open and close the garage door.
- Re-connect the motor unit power cord back into the electrical outlet.
- Verify that the green LED is flashing on the BBU (indicates that the BBU is now charging).
- Test completed
2. Charge the battery.
- Allow the batteries 24 to 48 hours to fully charge before using the BBU system.
A fully charged BBU supplies 24V DC to the motor unit for one to two days of normal operation during an electrical power outage. If the battery voltage drops too low, the batteries will disconnect and the motor unit will no longer operate under battery power. After the electrical power has been restored, the batteries will recharge within 48 hours. Under normal usage batteries will last 3 to 5 years.
To obtain maximum battery life and prevent damage, also disconnect the battery backup if you unplug the motor unit while on vacation or any other extended period of time.
NOTE: Door operation may be limited until batteries are fully charged. The
motor unit’s lights will not turn on during BBU mode.
BATTERY BACKUP (BBU) DIAGNOSTICS

GREEN LED:
All systems are normal.
- A solid LED light indicates the batteries are fully charged.
- A flashing LED indicates the batteries are being charged
NOTE: Batteries do not have to be fully charged to operate the motor unit.
Yellow LED:
The motor unit has lost power and is operating off of the BBU.
- A solid LED with beep, sounding approximately every 2 seconds, indicates the motor unit is activating the door and is operating off of the BBU.
- A flashing LED with beep, sounding every 30 seconds, indicates batteries are low.
- Once the power is restored the BBU will recharge. This is indicated by a flashing green LED.
REd LED:
An error has been detected and the BBU will automatically shut off. The BBU will attempt to restart by reconnecting to the batteries. If the error is still present it will shut itself off again.
This process will repeat every 5 minutes or until the error has been resolved. This is used to prevent further draining of the batteries.

WIRELESS KEYPAD – MODEL E850M
OVERVIEW


Wireless Keypads are security keypads and should be programmed to ONE opener. The Wireless Keypad comes with one 9V Lithium battery, instructions, and two keys. A wireless signal is transmitted when a valid 4-digit PIN and the # key is pressed. A long tone will sound. The keypad backlight will illuminate for 15 seconds when any key is pressed. If an invalid PIN or partial PIN is accidentally entered, an error tone will sound. The Wireless Keypad is compatible with all
Chamberlain Security+2.0 openers.
Warning
Activate opener only when door/gate is in full view, free of obstruction and properly adjusted. No one should enter or leave while door/gate is in motion. Do not allow children to operate or play with push buttons or remote controls. Do not allow children to play near the door/gate.
NOTE: Only the original remote controls from the manufacturer should be used. Remote controls that may look very similar, but do not originate from the manufacturer are not compatible. Such third-party remotes create malfunctions such as automatic opening, and the guarantee on the function and safety expire
INSTALLATION
- Choose a mounting location suitable for your application such as a wall, flat surface, or a pedestal with a 76mm x 76mm mounting pattern. Locate the keypad at least 1.8m away from any moving part of the gate and where the user cannot reach over, under, around or through the gate to operate the controls. The mounting location needs to be in line of sight of the moving gate.
- Unlock and remove the faceplate from the mounting plate.
- Mount the mounting plate to the desired surface and secure with screws or bolts.
- Reattach the faceplate to the mounting plate and lock with the key.
- The garage door / gate opener must be programmed to accept the new keypad code. See basic programming.
Replacing Battery:
- Unlock and remove the faceplate from the mounting plate.
- Remove the battery cover using a screw driver. Change the battery (9V Lithium battery) and re-install inner cover.
- Re-attach the faceplate to the mounting plate and lock with the key.
BASIC PROGRAMMING
The E850G Keypad must be put into programming mode prior to any of the programming steps below unless otherwise indicated. The 6-digit Master Code is used to prevent unauthorized access to the system. A Master Code is required (factory default code: 888888) to setup the E850M Keypad. It is highly recommended to change and record your unique Master Code.
The keypad backlight will remain on if the product is in programming mode. While in programming mode, if an invalid Master Code is entered, an error tone will sound. The keypad will remain in programming mode. After 60 seconds of inactivity, the keypad will exit the programming mode.
Set Master Code

Program your regular 4-digit PIN

NOTE: An error tone will sound if the maximum number of PINs is exceeded or if user tries to program a PIN already programmed in
the memory.
PROGRAM TO OPENER
NOTE: The Master Code and a PIN need to be set before the opener can be connected to keypad. See Basic Programming.
- Press the Learn Button on the opener.
- Within 30 seconds - Enter a valid 4-digit PIN then press #. A long tone will sound.
The keypad is now programmed to the opener.
OPERATION
To operate the opener using the wireless keypad
- Enter the 4 digit user code. The keypad backlight will come on with the first digit
- Press #. A long tone will be heard.
Three tones will be heard if the code is not valid.
ADVANCED PROGRAMMING
To set up following features the keypad must be put into programming mode first.
Set Temporary PIN
A temporary 4-digit PIN can be programmed to allow access to visitors (maximum of 9 uses). The temporary PIN cannot be the same as any previously programmed PIN. The keypad will store up to 10 unique temporary PINs.

Delete Permanent or Temporary PIN

Reset Master Code
- Unlock and remove the front cover.
- Press and hold the RESET button on the control board for 6 seconds. A long tone sounds indicating the Master Code has been reset.
Reset Keypad
Resetting the keypad will erase the Master Code, all permanent PINs and all temporary PINs. All settings will be set to factory default. After resetting, the keypad will not operate the previously programmed openers until they are reprogrammed. To reset the keypad:
- Unlock and remove the front cover.
- Press and hold RESET button on the control board for 6 seconds until a long tone sounds, then release.
- Press and hold RESET button on the control board for 15 seconds, 3 long tones will sound indicating the keypad has been reset.
Lockout Mode (Default is ON)
If the keypad receives five consecutive invalid PINs, the keypad will enter lockout mode and will not accept any keypad inputs for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, the keypad will begin accepting new inputs.

BATTERY

The 9V Lithium battery should produce power for up to 5 years. To replace the battery:
- Unlock and remove the front cover from the mounting plate.
- Remove the battery cover using a screw driver.
- Remove the old battery and install new 9V Lithium battery. Re-install inner cover.
- Reattach the front cover to the mounting plate and lock with the key.
Dispose of old battery according to the local rules.
Warning
Risk of explosion if the battery is replaced by an incorrect type.
Do not ingest battery, Chemical Burn Hazard. This product contains a coin battery. If swallowed, button batteries can cause injuries, or death.
- Keep batteries out of sight and out of the reach of children, button/coin batteries can be dangerous for children.
- Dispose of used button batteries immediately. Do not use defect/swallowed batteries.
- Check periodically if the battery compartments is secure, stop using if defect.
- If batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.

LEARNING INSTRUCTIONS:
- Press the “Learn” button on your opener or receiver for 1-2 seconds,until the
courtesy lamp begins to flash slowly. - Press the button on your remote you wish to program for one second.
- Press the remote button again to confirm.
- On the next press of that button the door should operate.
REPLACING THE BATTERY:

- Use a screwdriver to gain access to the battery cover.
- Insert a coin or similar object to open the battery cover.
- Remove the old battery and dispose of properly.
- Insert replacement battery positive side up. Replace batteries with only CR2032 coin cell batteries.
- Replace the batttery cover by using a coin or similar object.
- Use a screwdriver to secure the battery cover.

1. Programming - Merlin Security+ 2.0 door opener systems

The remote is preset for use with Merlin Security+ 2.0 systems, so for EVO door opener models with this code, simply program in the usual manner. Refer to the WIRELESS PROGRAMMING section in your Opener Operating Manual.
NOTE: If you are unsure what code has been set previously, use the Security+ programming sequence on page 2.
- Press & hold the button on the remote you wish to use.
- Press & release the LEARN button on the opener.
- Release the remote button when the opener light flashes. The code has been learnt and the next press of the remote button should activate the door.
2. Programming - Merlin Security+ door opener systems

To do this you will need to enter the unique REMOTE PROGRAMMING sequence:
- Enter the programming MODE on the remote by pressing and holding the left and right buttons simultaneously for around 5 seconds (fig 1). Release when the remote LED stays ON continuously.
- Press & release the LEARN button on your garage door opener briefly (fig 2). Within 30 seconds, the remote can now be programmed.
- Select the button on the remote you wish to program and press twice (fig 3). If the opener light flashes, the code has been learnt and step 4 can be performed. If not, press the selected button again until the opener light flashes, indicating the code has been learnt. At this point, do not press this button any more.
- Now press any one of the OTHER 3 buttons of the remote (fig 4). This LOCKS IN the code to the button selected in step 3 and the remote LED turns OFF.
