I originally was impressed. The salesman explained everything so I understood and the installer did a great job. About 12 months later I had a problem with my security door so I rang to ask how I could try and fix it or whether it was covered under the warranty. I was told it must be movement of the house (house is 12 years old so it’s not) or I pay $95 call out fee. If it’s not under warranty I just wanted to know (in layman’s terms) how to adjust. This experience put a real damper on the great one I had at time of purchase

I got 4 quotes on my front gate controller and all the other companies didn't even bother coming and said I needed to buy an entire new gate system. John was great, he came to quote and spent a good half hour trying to determine the fault. After determining it was most likely the controller he quoted on replacing that first, before having to change the gate arms too (which would have been a new system). Controller worked and the cost was a quarter of the cost of a new system. It's refreshing to see that there are still good, honest tradesmen out there. Yesterday my garage door collapsed due to broken drum. Tried 4 places to get quotes, 2 responded immediately and friendly. Sent both very detailed photos of damages and gave measurements of door and drum diameters to avoid multiple trips hence cost. Eastern Garage was chosen for earlier attendance to repairs. we had an issue 2 weeks outside of the warranty. The problem was with the parts installed last year. When I called the immediate reponse was "well it is out of warranty so we will have to charge" not a good start. I was then told that I caused the problem, um how could the phone operator have any idea of this. Apparently her mind powers told her that I had disengaged the cable that hangs down. Not sure how this is even possible when I am outside of the garage, if only I had such abilities.The only positive is that they answer the phone quickly but we will never use this company again, support is 0/10ETA I think you missed the point of the review. Your workmanship failed 2 weeks post 12 mth warranty and you blame the customer, this is not a good review. It is great you are happy that you did not have to come and fix your work, that speaks volumes.

From the very get go eastern garage doors was thorough in coming up with the best solution. We have limited height clearance so Eastern garage was very honest and upfront about the options available to us. We settled on a custom clad tilt door which is a massive upgrade on what we had. The back and forth communication was prompt and clear. They did a similarly great job to a colleague who I've recommended them to. Will definitely recommend to others.

Actually they provide fast and efficient service. Why I am given one star rate is based on below 2 reason.1. When I making phone calls, I checking repeatedly to confirm service charges. To avoid confusion, I did ask is one one seven, without any objection.I knew there's confusion when you say one seventy. But when job finished,I asked to paid 170.2. When I am asking to pay 170, Darren said it won't be 117 even 30 years ago. I am so upset with this. As yes I am not in Melbourne 30 years ago. But around ninety I am in other part of Australia. I do know the charge in last century was definitely lower than 100.
